Why We Are Grumpy – The Final Word

In TFC on August 9, 2009 at 2:15 am

The series of observations/rants about the widespread outbreak of grumpiness ended on August 8th. So here is the final word….followed by one very good reason NOT to be grumpy.

We are grumpy because we really do know that we are being taken for dopes and we chose to ignore it, avoid it or embrace it.

We are grumpy because we don’t listen as much as we did, while we talk much more than we used to.

We are grumpy because we say one thing and do another and expect others not to do that.

We are grumpy because somewhere along the line some joker decided that knowledge was over rated, curiosity was an optional extra and any other era – past or future – is not worth anyone’s candle.

We are grumpy because somewhere along the line some twit thought we couldn’t be trusted to find out, depended upon to unearth.

We are grumpy because we chose to be and seek out reasons to be so.

Grumpy is the new grey.

Grumpy is now a brand, an attitude, a lifestyle.

We are grumpy and we know it…and too often choose NOT to dump the big G.

Can we ALL please have a think about it…I am so grumpy about being grumpy!

So let laces be tied or untied.

Allow irony to flow and the inarticulate to find a voice.

Turn to the person on your left or right…opposite you on the tram…behind you in the bar…just turn to someone…and let the sparkle in your eye shine. It could beome habit forming.

It’s all about US!

Now, whenever I feel afraid I don’t whistle a happy tune, I simply type the words “Eurovision” and “Finland” into a search engine.
