This week we salute a Les. He was the man who changed our musical world – Les Paul. The electric guitar was his brainwave as were all kinds of recording techniques that we take for granted these days. He died this week at the age of 94. It is always nice to honour a Les … they don’t get much in the way of accolades these days. And there was also a Mary, Les’ wife Mary Ford. They were stars in the 1950s. In this clip they strut their stuff, but only after some rather down home tuning up!
And to get the idea of Les Paul’s innovation have a squizz at this. This was 50s cutting edge!
