Then raise the scarlet standard high;
Beneath its folds we’ll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.
Tis Mayday and “The Red Flag” should be sung, but not on my show ! And fotr those looking, the hidden Communist track on this playlist is very well hidden!
So let’s have a look at this week’s five year plan.

Attention Must Be Paid – The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band
This group is somewhat of a missing link in the Mony Python story. Bonzo Dog was around at the same time that Monty P was getting going. It was the house band for “Do Not Adjust Your Set” which featured Michael Palin, Terry Jones & Eric Idle. The group even had a hit or two, but the various egos inside the band and the one-off nature of the front man Vivian Stanshall probably made become “success” always something of an outside bet. Neil Innes kept going on and his music pops up through the succeeding Pythonesque canon of work. Bonzo Dog combined a great fondness for the silly songs of the 20s & 30s with madcap antics and an occasional expedition to the musical mainstream.
