The Full Catastrophe – 22nd May 2010 playlist

In TFC on May 22, 2010 at 10:51 pm

After a week away in the crisp climes of Canberra, I returned for a program with two distinct halves AND a sub-section.

There was TFC + a Fantasy Eurovision Song Contest + Lena Horne in “Attention Must Be Paid”.  All that in two hours.  Hooly dooly.

So the playlist is quite a sight to see AND there’s a sneak peak of the two highly favoured ESC  entries at the bottom … ooo errr.

Funhouse – Pink

Listening Out For Our Song – Jason Walker & The Last Drinks

Common People – Andy Bull

Sweet Joline – Wayne Toups

Home – Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

Do Nothing Till – Mose Allison

Attention Must Be Paid – Lena Horne

Sadly, Lena has recently left us but her legacy is an extraordinary one.  A singer, performer and political campaigner.  The tracks TFC played reflect her career right up to the last decade. She lived 92 great years.

Old Devil Moon

Moanin’ Low

It’s All Right With Me

The last track is from Lena Horne’s final album “Being Myself“, released when she was 81!

I’ll Keep On Loving You – Sean Blackburn

Cast Of Thousands – Craig Carnelia

Eurovision Song – Marty Feldman

And after Marty’s great tribute to the Eurovision Song Contest, the show moved onto the 3rd annual TFC Fantasy ESC.

Ubiquite – Paris Combo (FRA)

Daibhidh Graibhidh – Tim agus Greg (UK-Ecosse)

Adored & Explored – Marc Almond (UK – Angleterre)

Pentref Wrth Y Mor – Geraint Jarman (UK – Pays de Galles)

Chez Les Ye-Ye  – April March (France, Luxembourg, Suisse, Belgique)

Seguimos – Watussi (Espagne)

Mamma Mi Piace Il Ritmo – Renzo Arbore E I Suoi Swing Maniacs (Italie)

Fado Tordo – Mariza (Portugal)

The wonder of the fado and its greatest exponent.  It has been tried at the ESC, but to no real effect.

Fleur Bleus – Charles Trenet (France)

Ciuri, Ciuri – Eurocantica – (Italie – Sicily)

Kokettier Nicht Mit Mir – Gotz Alsmann & Annett Louisan (Allemagne)
