The Full “Radiothon” Catastrophe – June 11 2010

In TFC on June 12, 2010 at 10:57 pm

It’s that time of year again, so dig deep and often – you know it makes sense.

The Joy 94.9 Radiothon helps keep this unique radio station on the air.

Think about a life without Joy and TFC.  No Tasmanian jazz, no Gaelic punk, no Eurovision horror, no Newsless.

It doesn’t bear thinking about.  So – show us the money!

##

The Money Song – Monty Python

Sweet Talkin’ Guy – The Chiffons

A great girl group doing one of their hits.

Quick Before They Catch Us – Paddy, Klaus & Gibson

5-10-15 Hours – Ruth Brown

Winterwunderwelt – Gotz Alsmann

One of my favourite Germans.  Gotz is a performer of note and a musicologist to boot! The track was a Deutsch sprache version of “Winter Wonderland.

Straighten Up & Fly Right -Dianne Reeves

Attention Must be Paid – Quintette du Hot Club de France

Appel Direct

Undecided

I Got Rhythmn

Rebel Rebel – David Bowie

Around The Traps – Fred Bradshaw

And Her Mother Came Too – Jeremy Northam

Northam is a sorta kinda Colin Firth figure to some. To others he’s an under rate actor and not a bad singer of a certain kind of song.  The track comes from Robert Altman’s last film “Gosford Park”.

I Don’t Remember Christmas – George Lee Andrews

Route 66 – Depeche Mode

Soul Lover – Loka Nunda

Is This Anyway To Fall In Love – Linda Eder

Tip Toe Through The Tulips – Tiny Tim

Tiny Tim was a 1960s musical phenomenon.  Looking back it is very difficult to understand how he happened and why he happened, but he happened!

Perfect – Fairground Attraction

A one hit wonder, but a delightful late 80s tune nevertheless.
