Time for another excursion down the highways and byways of public broadcasting hither & yon.

This week there is only one place to start – the Archers.

This radio soap which is “an everyday story of country folk” has been running for SIXTY years.  The BBC is giving this stalwart of UK radio quite a platform to celebrate.  This page has some history and some old episodes.

Still with things dramatic, Radio New Zealand has this offering of stories from people with stories of seeking refuge.

A Thousand Strangers is a very interesting enterprise.

The Canadians have a discussion about whether Oprah Winfrey and her book club is a good thing.

And finally, National Public Radio in the U-S offers a view of the Disney classic Fantasia.
