The Full Catastrophe – 18th June 2011

In Uncategorized on June 18, 2011 at 10:53 pm

Hosted & posted by Andy “We Come Out Snarling AND Marching In” Bell

A fabulous Friday set up a sensational Saturday.  In my footballing experience in all codes it is a rarity for two of my faves to win on the same night.  Both the Western Bulldogs, whose tribulations this year have made me love them more AND the South Sydney Rabbitohs came through.

The world is a lot more than football, but a leather egg quinella is not to be discounted.

Now on with the other show  AND Happy Birthday the UK’s Gaydio.

##

All Right All Night – Tom Robinson Band

It’s Not Just For Gays Anymore – Neal Parick Harris.

See more of this and more from the 2011 Tony AwaRDS.

Raindrops – Dee Clark

The Zodiac – Dave Lindup

I’m Telling You Now – Freddie & The Dreamers

To Keep My Love Alive – Ella Fitzgerald

This song from A Connecticut Yankee

Me & My Teddy Bear – Roy Rogers

Jungle Boogie – Kool &  The Gang

Three Cool Cats – The Coasters

The Beatles also did a version of this groovy song, but it didn’t quite work. The track was done before Ringo took up the drumsticks.

Lambi Golo Part 1 – Meï Teï Sho

One Life To Live – Danny Kaye

A song from a musical about psychoanalysis Lady In The Dark.  Yes, really.  In the show the song is sung by a woman…but there again Danny Kaye was allegedly bi-sexual.

Brush Up Your Shakespear – Robert Nicholls & David Garrison

Staying in the musical theatre with this classic comedy number from “Kiss Me Kate” which was Cole Porter’s witty take on Mr Shakespeare’s “The Taming Of The Shrew”.  It has the wonderful line: “If she says your behavior is heinous, Kick her right in the Coriolanus.” Choice!

Use Your Head- Money Mark

Walkin’ With Frankie – Frankie Lee Sims

That Old Black Magic – David Williamson Quartet

Junco Partner – Richard Hayes & The Eddie Sauter Orchestra

Torquay – The Fireballs

Put A Tax On Love – Eddie Cantor

Cantor was a superstar of stage and the talking pictures in the early part of the last century.  Here it is.

The Very Thought Of You – Etta James

Stop – Spice Girls

You Are My World – The Communards

Keep On Running – Spencer Davis Group

Turn Around – Florida
