Posted & hosted by Andy “Carbon Neutral” Bell

Just hours away from a moment of historical significance not encountered since the parting of the Red Sea or possibly the beginning of time itself.

With all the Carbon Tax carry-on we were all in dire need of  something that was eco-friendly AND tuneful.

Mind you I don’t know if I can keep my hot air emissions under control.

Boogie Nights – Heatwave

I loved Heatwave when I was a young bloke.

A World Of Our Own – The Seekers

The More I See You – Chris Montez

Mr Right – Mark Jones

Sung by a man “Mr Right” has a whole new meaning.  It’s from the musical “Love Life” Kurt Weill and Alan Jay Lerner.  Here’s the traditional female version.

Listening – Pseudo Echo

This Funny World – Mary Cleere Haran

Fado Portugues De Nos – Mariza

The  fado is a Portuguese form of music usually characterized by mournful tunes and lyrics and is  often about the sea or the life of the poor.  However, this one is rather jaunty. Mariza is the foremost exponent of the art.

Prete A Porter – Paris Combo

Drown In The River – Jason Walker & The Last Drinks

Botch-A-Me – Rosemary Clooney

Only Heaven Knows – David Campbell

That Dirty Old Man – Mary Tester

From the Roman romp of a musical “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum“.

The Boat That I Row – Lulu

Could’ve Been Worse – The ReChords

Patricia – Continental Airlines Auckland Brass

Swing Still Works For Me – Craig Schneider

Sugar Me – Lynsey de Paul

A classic of the 70s.

I Can’t Tell You Why – Chromeo

Run Baby Run – Deadstar

Sunshine Day – Osirisa

The Man I Love – Lee Adam Wilshier

Bubbles In The Wine – Freddy Martin Orchestra

Perhaps best known as the theme to the ineffable “Lawrence Welk Show“.
